If we think that split ends can be repaired than we are wrong because its not true. Split ends happen when the hair's protective cuticle has been stipped away from the ends of hair fibres because of damage or abuse( sun exposure, chemicals, blow dryers, regualar wear and tear..) . Split ends cannot be repaired- once the hair cuticle is removed, it can't be replaced and the only way to get rid of the damaged end is to cut it. That said, you can prevent further split ends from developing by preventive measures-get your hair trimmed every six weeks, condition your hair regularlym cut down your usage of heated appliances, use shampoos that contain hair strengthening ingredients, and avoid brushing your hair when it's wet and most vulnerable.
