4. Some people find indigo helpful for studing so use as part of the decor of a library or study.

GREEN

1. Balancing, harmonising and encourages tolerace and understanding.

1. Depending upon the shade, can be used for most areas.
2. Use with other colour as well to avoid the balance and harmony becoming more like total inactivity and indecision.
YELLOW

1. Stimulates mental activity.
2. Promotes feeling of confidence.
3. Helpful for study as it helps us to stay alert.

1. Activity rooms.
2. Entrance halls.
3. Not for bedrooms as yellow can interfere with sleep since it tends to keep our minds "switched on".
4. Not ideal for areas of possible stress.
ORANGE

1. Warming and energising Can stimulate creativity.
2. Orange is the colour of fun and sociality.

1. Any acitvity area and creative areas.
2. Not ideal for bedrooms or areas of possible stress.
RED
Effects
1. Energising, exciting the emotions.
2. Stimulates appetite.
Suggested Areas
1. Any acitivity area but red needs careful choice of tone and depth and the space in which it is used. Can make a space look smaller and can be claustrophobic or oppressive.
2. Used well, red and its variations can make a space feel warm and cozy.
3. Often used in restaurants.
MAGENTA
Effects
1. Magenta is the 8th colour in the colour spectrum and is a combination of red and violet. It combines our earthly and spiritual self, thus balancing spirit and matter.
2. Uplifting and helps gain a feeling of completeness and fulfilment.

3. Not ideal for play rooms or acitivity rooms.
TURQUOISE

1. Cool and calming and good for the nervous system and immune systems

This colour soothes and nurtures
It helps to dissolve anger and encourages unconditional love.

Ideal for a baby or childs bedroom.
BLACK
Effects
1. Black used with another colour enhances the energy of that second colour.
2. Black gives us the space for reflection and inner searching.
Suggested Areas
1. Not ideal as a single colour, but when used with care, can enhance and complement other colours in almost any situation.
Effects
1. White contains all the colours.
2. It emphasises purity and illuminates our thoughts, gives us clarity.

1. Any room; can be a little intimidating.
